UPCOMING: Webinar on solar and ag
The American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) will hold a webinar on integrating solar energy with agricultural production, on Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Registration is required and costs $60 for members and $85 for non-members.
The webinar, titled “Agrivoltaics as a Resilience Strategy: Protecting Farmland with Integrated Dual-use Solar,” will feature Kathryn Bero, executive director of HARVEST California and Michelle Cox, program manager of HARVEST California. HARVEST California is a nonprofit organization dedicated to exploring solar energy and ag opportunities.
Topics will include strategies guiding the dual-use approach to land, water and energy management; compatibility considerations, with a focus on crop pairings, resource conservation, operational efficiencies and community benefits.
Participants may earn two hours of continuing education credit through the California Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers and ASFMRA, upon providing photo ID in advance and full attendance.
