Workshops to help Kings County growers with new water platform set

Hanford-area landowners and pumpers will soon be able to track their pumping allocation and groundwater usage as the Mid-Kings River Groundwater Sustainability Agency implements its new online groundwater platform.

Mid-Kings set pumping allocations for farmers last year at 1.43 acre feet per acre of land. That allocation began as of Oct. 1, which is the start of the 2026-2027 water year.

Mid-Kings will hold two workshops to help landowners get a feel for how to use the new platform.

The first workshop will be held virtually Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m.

A registration link will be shared by the GSA soon.

The second workshop will be held Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. in person at 1222 W. Lacey Blvd.
