Summer events for kids and adults along Kings River

Attention campers

Kings River agencies are hosting several  events this summer from a children’s camp to river clean-ups.

The Kings River Conservancy is inviting children aged six to sign up for a week-long summer camp July 20 to 24. Drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. and pickup is at 2:30 p.m.

Campers can swim in the river and learn about the outdoors.

The camp will be located at a private residence along the Kings River, near the intersection of Elwood and Piedra. Transportation will be provided from Fresno and Sanger.

The Conservancy will provide a morning snack and lunch.

Participants will receive a camp t-shirt, a reusable water bottle and a life jacket following the camp event.

Email education@kingsriverconservancy.org for more information on the summer camp or to join the waitlist.

The program is full, but additional spaces may be available, Conservancy Executive Director Molly Schnur-Salimbene wrote in an email.

If an additional $18,000 can be raised, a second week may be added, Schnur-Salimbene wrote.
