UPCOMING: Kings River clean up day

Volunteers for a Kings River Clean up are needed at 8:30 a.m. May 16.

The monthly cleanups are sponsored by the Kings River Fisheries Management Program. Volunteers walk along the river bank, picking up trash and debris.

Staff scouted the location, near Piedra in Fresno County, last week and found discarded refrigerators and other large debris.

The event begins with a safety talk. Trash bags, trash grabbers and water are provided. It will conclude about 10 a.m.

Volunteers are encouraged to dress in layers as mornings can be cool. Meet at the turnout across from Winton Park, or go to the location pinned on this map.
