Upcoming: Annual Kings River event

The Kings River Conservancy will hold its annual “Spring Fling on the Kings” event May 9 from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. in Reedley.

There will be an awards ceremony for the conservancy’s annual photo contest, water safety presentation and attendees can expect food trucks, music and activities for children at the free event. The event will be held at Cricket Hollow, 100 North East Ave.

Kids under 18 will be eligible for a free lifejacket, while supplies last.

The conservancy encourages attendees to bring a blanket, comfortable shoes and card games.

The conservancy, a nonprofit organization, focuses on conservation, education and public safety along the Kings River. The agency offers youth programs, monthly nature walks and monthly river clean up events. Upcoming events can be found on the conservancy’s event page.
